Part 1: Level 5 180 Hour Online TEFL Course
Unit 1: Foundations of TEFL
In the first unit of the Course, you’ll be given a brief history of TEFL as well as an introduction to teaching methodologies to get you started.
Unit 2: Planning a Lesson
By looking at who you’re teaching to, learning styles and lesson aims, we’ll show you how to create an effective lesson plan – the first essential skill of TEFL.
Unit 3: Lesson Structure
In this unit, you’ll find out how to structure a lesson by using the PPP method, warmers and coolers and different teaching techniques.
Unit 4: Classroom Management
An important part of teaching is ensuring you have a good environment to work in. You’ll look at that and how best to help your students learn in this unit.
Unit 5: Vocabulary
Teaching vocabulary can be tricky – but by studying the meaning of words, form and presentation, you’ll soon get the hang of it!
Unit 6: Pronunciation
Through looking at word stress, patterns and sentences, in Unit 6, you’ll see how to teach pronunciation in a way that your students will understand easily.
Unit 7: Grammar
Teaching grammar might seem daunting but we’ll take you through the different types of verbs, determiners and prepositions so that, by the end of this unit, you’ll have the confidence to deliver a grammar lesson.
Unit 8: Younger Learners
By learning about learning and teaching styles, keeping learners on-task and adapting your teaching materials, this unit will get you ready to teach to younger learners.
Unit 9: The Four Skills: Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening
A fundamental of TEFL teaching is looking at the Four Skills. Here, you’ll find approaches to teaching each skill, structuring specific lessons and top tips to get your students doing all four!
Unit 10: What next?
In the last unit of the first part of the Course, we’ll give you some guidance on how to find your first TEFL job (hurray!) and even provide you with some useful TEFL resources to use in the classroom.

In this 60-hour Specialist TEFL Course, you’ll get to grips with the following:
